The winner of a completely crazy Sunday race at the Sachsenring is Ben Dorr. The Dorr-McLaren driver was unstoppable and triumphed despite a wild tyre gamble before the start as well as several accidents and safety-car periods, which wiped out his comfortable lead shortly before the end.
Thomas Preining (Manthey-Porsche) finished second and has taken a step towards winning the title. That is because rival Maro Engel, who had started from pole, did cross the line in fifth, but the AMG driver was then given a penalty because shortly before the end he hit the rear of Kelvin van der Linde's Schubert-BMW and took him out of the race.
