Drunk mum thought she had hit a traffic cone when she ran over and killed boyfriend

A drink-drive mother killed her partner when she drove over his head after he fell in front of her car the day before his 28th birthday.

Lucy Quirke had been drinking all evening and believed she had hit a traffic cone in the horrific incident outside John Wright's Derby home which left him with catastrophic head injures.

The 38-year-old care worker later told police how she saw her partner lying in the road before she began screaming "help help, he's dead, he's dead. I don't know what to do", reports Derbyshire Live.
