Drug lord on run from 200 countries caught after sneaking out for night with model

A famous drug baron who is wanted in almost 200 countries has been found - after spending the night with a Columbian model.

The model - whose name has been withheld - uploaded his photo to Facebook, after the pair spent a couple of nights together at a luxury apartment and ended his criminal career.

Brian Donaciano Olguin Berdugo - better known as 'Pitt' - was arrested an apartment complex in the city of Cali in the Colombian department of Valle del Cauca.

The Mexican national is thought to have arrived in the country in February to broker cocaine deals with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People's Army (FARC), on behalf of the powerful Sinaloa Cartel.

However, after finishing his deals, he travelled to Cali to meet with a model.

According to local media, he disregarded all security protocols when seeing her.

He was even convinced to visit the popular tourist site Cerro de los Cristales, where he was pictured alongside her.

But when the model uploaded one photo to her Facebook account, agents of the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) informed the Colombian Anti-Narcotics Police of Berdugo's location.

Security cameras also spotted him at Jose Maria Cordova International Airport, picturing him with another attractive woman.

Berdugo was then followed by Colombian intelligence officers, and after two weeks of surveillance, they arrested him.

Police spokesperson General Jorge Vargas Valencia said: "We believe this result was the most important in terms of capturing Mexican cartel delegates who come to commit drug trafficking crimes with FARC in Cauca."

The Mexican drug lord is now being held in custody with an extradition order to the US.

Lawyers are working to prevent his extradition while the police reportedly claimed they were offered more than £200,000 as a bribe for his release.
