Drops have plagued the Browns offensively in 2023

It is no secret that the Cleveland Browns have not found any consistency through the air or on the ground offensively. And while they are not the core issue, it turns out the Browns are a team that has been plagued near the top of the league by dropped passes. Sam Hoppen of Fantasy Pros shows that only four teams have lost more Expected Points Added to dropped passes than the Browns.

PFF has charted the Browns with five drops on the season. Two fall into the lap of running back Jerome Ford, and one to all of Marquise Goodwin, David Bell, and Pierre Strong Jr.

There is plenty of time for the Browns to turn it around offensively, even if it does not happen this week against the San Francisco 49ers as they could be starting practice squad quarterback P.J. Walker. However, five drops is not pretty, especially when the majority of them have come on potential big plays for the Browns’ offense.
