A motorbike rider 'flew' through the air over a roundabout before crashing into a car and fleeing the scene.
Driving instructor Angela Sorensen witnessed the incident as she was taking a learner driver on a lesson in St Helens at 6.05pm Tuesday (June 21). Footage captured on her dashboard cameras shows the motorbike rider approaching a roundabout on St Helens Linkway at speed, before he shot up from the kerb, and soared through the air over the centre of the roundabout.
Footage from the front dashboard shows the rider, having come off the bike, skidding across the road on the other side of the roundabout. Afterwards, he got up, dropped his helmet and ran into a waiting white Audi, which then drove off.

Angela, 50, from Prescot, told the ECHO : “We were on a lesson just after 6pm yesterday. The learner was driving, working on lane discipline at roundabouts.
"But then we hear this screech and the next thing we can see that there’s somebody on a motorbike in the air, coming across the roundabout, flying towards us. He’s gone into the side of the car and fallen off in front of us.
"The bike hit the side of my car and then he’s in the road. I’ve had to slam onto the brakes to do an emergency stop so we didn’t go over him. Then he just ran off.
"The learner’s ok, she’s obviously terrified, seeing this thing just in the air. I got her out and moved the car to the side of the road. She’s only got a month until her test, poor girl."
The crash caused damage to the right side of Angela's car - a white Volkswagen Polo. She said that the incident was "terrifying" and it could only be described as a "a flying in the air hit and run". She added: "There was nothing we could do. I just was like ‘what the hell is this?’"
She added: "He had approached the roundabout near B&Q at speed. He must have been doing 60 or something. You can see him on the video, heading to the roundabout in the left lane. At this point, he loses control, hits the roundabout and flies over it on the bike like Evel Knievel."
After the incident, the Audi left in the direction of Parr. Angela said that other witnesses told her that there was "chatting back" between the motorbike rider and the Audi at previous lights and they were possibly racing. A spokesperson for Merseyside Police confirmed that enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver.
The police spokesperson told the ECHO : "At around 6.05pm yesterday, Tuesday 21 June, we received a report of a collision on St Helens Linkway East. It was reported that a motorbike was in collision with a white Volkswagen at the roundabout, near to B&Q.
"It was further reported that the rider of the motorbike got into an Audi, which drove off in the direction of Parr. Enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver, including CCTV and checks of local hospitals, and anyone with any information is asked to contact police."
