A driver attempted to get out of paying a speeding ticket by adding stripes to his van - and then sending a picture to the authorities claiming the decorations had always been there.
William Britton was caught doing 74mph in a 60mph but, instead of taking the three points on his licence, he bought stickers for his Ford Transit van to pretend the one caught on camera wasn't his.
His deception was found out through an investigation lasting 300 hours and involving bank records, automatic number plate recognition cameras and mobile phone movements.
