Driver fails to stop after man injured at Hyde Park Corner

A police investigation is under way after a man was injured by a car outside a museum near Hyde Park Corner Underground station in west London.

The man, who is in his late 50s, was taken to hospital after the collision with a car just after 2am on Wednesday.

Metropolitan Police officers were called to the scene outside the Wellington Collection at Aplsey House on Piccadilly.

The Met said the driver failed to stop and enquiries continue.

There have been no arrests so far.

The man was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service. His condition was not considered life threatening or changing.

London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 2.05am this morning to reports of a road traffic collision at Hyde Park Corner, Knightsbridge.

"We sent an ambulance crew and a paramedic in a fast response car to the scene.

"We treated a patient at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre."
