A driver has been air-lifted to a Sydney hospital after a serious crash at Port Stephens in the early hours of Tuesday.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of a single-vehicle incident at Salt Ash about 4.40am, where they freed a 21-year-old man from a vehicle.
He received initial treatment for spinal injuries at the scene and was stabilised.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter took him to Royal North Shore Hospital for further treatment, in a serious condition.
