The price of a pint of Guinness is set to go up as Diageo is hiking its prices - in what's been described as "further bad news for the pub trade".
It's expected that punters will have to spend at least an extra 12c per pint of the black stuff as the hike will "most likely" be passed on to customers - and it will kick in from February 1st.
The Vintners' Federation of Ireland said an announcement by Diageo comes as publicans are already grappling with soaring energy costs, inflation and the general increase in the cost of doing business.
