Draymond Green showed love to an NBA journalist for his honesty, and it was very cool to see

There has been a lot to dissect from the two 2022 NBA Finals games, which have the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors even at one win apiece. Yet, there has also been a lot of talk about what’s going on off the court.

On Saturday, the Celtics’ players wore “WE ARE BG” T-shirts to the arena to show support for Brittney Griner, who is being wrongfully detained in Russia. And on Sunday, both teams wore “end gun violence” T-shirts during pregame warmups ahead of Game 2.

But one of the more talked about things that followed was Draymond Green’s dialogue in his post-game media availability following his team’s win. Green was asked a question about the Warriors’ past Finals teams that included Kevin Durant, so he went on to speak about their current offense, specifically Stephen Curry’s importance in it, and compared it to his same importance when KD played for Golden State.

Many media outlets ignored the question and clipped only Draymond’s response, leaving it to seem as if the former Defensive Player of the Year was just talking about Durant for the heck of it.

NBA Reporter Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints was not happy about it.

“Our offense is always a lot of Steph. It all starts with Steph. When KD was here, our offense started with Steph.”

And During Tuesday’s media availability, Draymond recognized Azarly, who had just finished asking him a question. This is what happened next.

“I see your name and I saw last night, where you pointed out, or maybe two days ago, where you pointed out that there was a question I was asked about Kevin Durant and that’s why I’d mentioned him. So, I want to say thank you for your honesty.”

Kudos to Azarly for showing the honest truth and shout out to Draymond for acknowledging Azarly’s efforts.

What a cool moment.
