The Golden State Warriors are set to have Draymond Green back in the lineup after missing 16 games.
Green, who was suspended indefinitely after hitting Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the face, has already been reinstated but is expected to play in Monday’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
The timing couldn’t be better, as the Warriors are 18-21 currently and looking to avoid falling further down the standings in a tough Western Conference. They’ve lost three of their last four games and seven of the last 10. During Green’s absence, the team did manage to go 8-8 over the 16-game stretch.
Green’s recent suspension came less than one month after he was disciplined in the form of a five-game suspension after putting Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a chokehold. It’s unknown if there’ll be any minutes restriction in place for Green after the extended absence from game action.
