Draymond Green almost hilariously started a beef with Kevin Garnett over a fake quote

Man oh man. The fake NBA Twitter accounts are putting up numbers these days, y’all.

Kendrick Perkins knows about this all too well. He’s normally the most famous person we see fall victim to the Ballsack Sportsification of Twitter, which is especially rampant now considering the fact that literally anyone can be verified for the cost of a cup of coffee.

It wasn’t Perkins who fell for the trap today, though. Instead, it was Draymond Green. And it almost started an extremely, extremely regrettable beef with Kevin Garnett.

Luckily, though, cooler heads prevailed. This is not something I ever thought I’d say about a situation involving Kevin Garnett. But, hey. Here we are.

Anyway, here’s how it all went down.

Draymond thought Kevin Garnett tweeted about him punching Jordan Poole

Yet another fake NBA account — @TheNBACentel — tweeted a fake Kevin Garnett quote about Draymond Green punching Jordan Poole last season.

Wow. Draymond really got got.

He sure did. And then he directly mentioned Garnett after getting absolutely bamboozled. Just completely embarrassing.

Now, considering who Kevin Garnett is? This could’ve gotten so much worse than it did. After all, this is the same guy who is one of the best worst trash talkers in NBA history. I mean, it’s partially why he was so good, honestly.

Luckily, KG was willing to let bygones be bygones. Instead, he blamed Elon Musk. Because, honestly, yeah, it’s all his fault.

This is what happens when everyone gets a blue checkmark, Elon.

That's actually hilarious

Yup. Everyone had jokes after this, too. Even Kevin Durant got in on the fun.

So what happened to the account?

They got NBA Centel out of the paint, folks. First, the account lost its blue checkmark. Then it got suspended.

But the damage was already done. The account just put up legendary numbers. And, certainly, another one will step up in its place. It only costs 10 dollars, after all.

The jokes are still flying in

Got to be a bit more careful out there in these Twitter streets, Draymond.
