This is the dramatic moment a weatherman stopped his live broadcast to save a boy struggling to swim in the sea behind him.
Paul Burt was covering a story in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast in Australia when he noticed the 10-year-old boy getting into difficulty in the water.
The 7NEWS presenter was talking about the dangers of ocean gutters - which is part of the water near the shoreline that suddenly gets deeper before getting shallow again.
He suddenly noticed the boy get sucked out on the rip current and ran to help a small group of beachgoers drag him to safety.
Mr Burt told 7News: "It’s that type of scenario that drags people out."
It took him several minutes to reach the boy as he navigated the choppy waves.
The boy managed to stay afloat and was pulled to shore by a small group of people.
Mr Burt, who was then drenched in water, spoke to 7NEWS moments after rescuing the lad.
He said: "A group of family from Pakistan jumped in, they got sucked out.
“There was a 10-year-old boy ... that got dragged out into this fierce gutter, and of course into this rip.
“Being of a lightweight he managed to stay afloat and come in adjacent to the southern side of the gutter.
“About four or five of us jumped in and basically pulled him back to the beach.
“He’s living, he’s breathing, he’s conscious, he’s talking - the ambulance here are doing their best to obviously keep him alert.
“There’s no doubt he would have taken a fair bit of water in.”
He also reminded beachgoers of ocean gutters, like the one he just found himself in, may look innocent but they can deadly for inexperienced swimmers.
Mr Burt added: "These gutters here are very, very dangerous.
“We’ve had half a dozen rescues on the Gold Coast here this week.”
Last week, a huge tiger shark was filmed lunging at a paddleboarder and chomping through his board throwing him in the water.
Brodie Moss filmed the remarkable footage as the massive predator tried to catch a giant turtle just inches below his toes - and narrowly missed him as the shark bite through his paddleboard instead.
During the terrifying incident in the ocean off Western Australia, Brodie can be seen finding himself in the middle of the predator and prey and soon realises the danger he's in.
Brodie is seen in the video saying: "Oh this is intense, they're underneath me. Oh, I don't know if I'm in the best position right here. Oh, I'm between a tiger and a turtle. Uh oh!"
He crashes into his water along with his camera, which falls to the seabed.
