The Atlanta Falcons suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday, a 20-6 thrashing at the hands of the Detroit Lions. It was an ugly game as the team was clearly outmatched in the trenches for all four quarters.
Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder was sacked seven times, while Atlanta finished without a single sack of Jared Goff. For the first time in 2023, the ground game was a non-factor.
Buy Falcons TicketsWide receiver Drake London was unhappy with the team’s performance, saying he felt like the Falcons “got punched in the face today,” per FOX’s Justin Felder.

“Honestly, I think we just got punched in the face today,” said London. “I wouldn’t say it was a rude awakening, but we just need to be on our p’s and q’s and get everything right in order for us to win those games against a gritty team like that.”
The Falcons only managed 183 yards of total offense and there was plenty of blame to go around. While fans are looking for an easy answer, sometimes it just comes down to getting off to better starts.
Atlanta takes on the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday in London.
