A man who caused serious chemical burns to another man by pouring drain cleaner on him has failed to show up to court.
Edward Arthur Robinson was due to face Brisbane District Court on Friday for sentencing on a charge of acts intended to maim or disfigure but he did not appear.
Robinson attacked the other man in the inner Brisbane suburb of West End just after 7am on October 4, 2021.
The victim was taken to hospital and Robinson - who was 41 at the time of the attack - was granted bail at a court hearing the next day.
Crown prosecutor Joshua Francis told the court on Friday that an arrest warrant had been issued for Robinson on September 27 this year.
"He has not been arrested under that warrant. I understand he has not appeared today," Mr Francis said.
Judge Ian Dearden ordered that Robinson's name be called out to the court building's lobby but he still did not appear.
"A bench warrant having been issued, really there is no other order to be made ... we will return to this at some uncertain time," Judge Dearden said.
