St George Illawarra's six-month search for a new CEO is over, with Supercars chief operating officer Tim Watsford to take on the top job at the Dragons.

A former event and engagement manager at the NRL, Watsford confirmed on Tuesday he would leave Supercars after two and a half years in the role.
