Dragons’ Den star Steven Bartlett has reacted to a Coronation Street shout-out during Monday night’s hour-long instalment on ITV, which saw him described as having “the body of a young God”.
During a scene between Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) and her granddad Ken (William Roache), the youngest Dragon on the hit BBC business show came up.
Teenager Amy referred to his Sunday Times bestseller Happy Sexy Millionaire as she explained her aspirations to pitch to the 29-year-old.
Amy told her granddad: “You know Steven Bartlett, happy sexy millionaire. Founded an empire from his student flat in Manchester.”
Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) then weighed in with a swooning response, saying: “Oh, I like him. He’s got an old soul and the body of a young God,” before suggestively sighing.
The Diary of a CEO founder took to Twitter to respond to the shout-out in a clip, alongside the comment: “Ummm excuse me what????”
He added: “This really weirded me out … and I don’t know why [it] was sent to me on Whatsapp by a friend's mum.”
Fans responded to the hilarious nod to the Dragons’ Den star, with one commenting: “Steven, If this is not your new bio description in the next hour I will be very disappointed.”
“You know you have made it when you are mentioned on Corrie!” another added while a fellow fan suggested the comment could be his next book title.
Another wrote: “Speaks for a lot of ladies! Join the queue,” alongside a crying laughing emoji.

This comes after Steven was reportedly scolded by the BBC for breaking the broadcaster’s strict sponsorship rules by wearing a certain jewellery brand on the hit business show.
The 29-year-old surreptitiously plugged the jewellers Craftd on an instalment of the show, which is prohibited by the Beeb, and took to his social media to showcase the range of items, including necklaces.
The clip of the entrepreneur has now reportedly been removed and he has been barred from wearing items from the jeweller on future Dragons’ Den episodes if his contract is renewed.
The BBC told The Sun: “We have clear guidelines around talent’s commercial activity while working with us. Steven has been reminded of the guidelines.”
Meanwhile, the Diary Of A CEO podcaster insisted: “This was a genuine oversight on my part. The posts have now been taken down. I will ensure I am clear about what activity is possible.”
