Dragons' Den's Deborah Meaden not happy over man shortening her name

An aspiring entrepreneur got a stark telling off from Deborah Meaden Thursday's episode of Dragons' Den.

Steven Murr entered the den to pitch his business Turborocks - which sells exercise bikes with built-in rocker plates for a more realistic and comfortable at-home ride.

Steven wanted £80,000 for a 5% stake.

When asking who would like to "have a go" on one of the bikes, he said: "Debbie, would you?", to which Deborah pointed to her hand in a plaster cast and said: "Probably not"

The den's youngest dragon, Stephen Bartlett, took him up on the offer - but afterwards said he "preferred his Peloton".

When Deborah then said it "came down to personal preference", Mr Murr interjected with: "absolutely, and there's no reason why there can't be the crossover there, Deb".

Deborah looked astounded.

She said: "Did you just call me Deb?", to which Steven replied: "Deborah, sorry".

Deborah continued: "Just so you know, you started off with a 'Debbie', you got away with it once.

"Now you've shortened it to Deb. If you call me D, you're gonna be out of those lift doors faster than you can say 'Deborah'".

Steven quickly apologised, but later called her "darling".

Dragons' Den airs Thursdays at 8pm on BBC One
