Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday reaffirmed the need to view India-China ties from a strategic and long-term perspective, with Modi stressing that peace and tranquillity along the border remains essential for the continued development of bilateral relations.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, where India also secured the adoption of the Delhi Declaration.
