RuPaul's Drag Race winners Lawrence Chaney and The Vivienne claim dress designers have begun over-charging drag queens for their creations.
The Vivienne, who was the winner on Drag Race UK series one, took to Twitter this week to say that she was fed up being overcharged by around ten times the normal price of a costume by opportunistic designers.
And Glasgow-born Lawrence, who was crowned champion last year, showed support for the statement and slammed the practice.
The Vivienne wrote: "When you get quoted nearly 4K by a designer, then you ask non drag race queens what the same designer usually charges for a very similar design….. £400.
"Common misconception about drag race queens. We’re not all millionaires! Don’t take the p***."
Lawrence, who made a big splash with outfits like her purple and Irn Bru orange coloured frocks on the show, replied: "The wayyyyy this happens WAY too often".
Lawrence has just embarked on the RuPaul UK tour with fellow finalists from last year Tayce, Bimini Bon Boulash, and Ellie Diamond.
The extravaganza comes to the Usher Hall in Edinburgh on February 5 and SEC Armadillo in Glasgow on February 6 and the Music Hall in Aberdeen on March 30.
Before becoming a success on the show, Lawrence had told of her struggles with getting cash for her performances on the SCotish drag scene.
She'd told RuPaul: "It's a whole different ballgame because in Scotland there is no money. The normal rate of payment is fifteen pounds for a drag spot."
