Dr Dre has embraced artificial intelligence in the studio, stating that only people who have trouble creating see it as a threat. In a New York Times interview published on 23 August 2026 with business partner Jimmy Iovine, the hip-hop producer confirmed he is already using AI in his work.
He views the technology as a new tool rather than a danger to musicians, comparing scepticism to past reactions against drum machines and synthesizers.
