Around 70 Wales fans could miss Wales' game against Iran because of a permit glitch at Dubai airport. Hundreds of fans have been staying there with the plan of flying across to Qatar on the morning of the game.
But there are reports that a "glitch in the system" means they have not been allowed to fly. The issue appears to be the Hayya cards, a permit that is needed to enter Qatar for the tournament. Fans with a valid match ticket are able to apply for a Matchday Visit Hayya Card, which is a visa permit that allows entry into Qatar for up to 24 hours.
However, many have reported that they are not being issued in time to board the shuttle flights into Doha. One fan told BBC Radio Cymru Dros Frecwast that he was one of 13 in a "hellish" situation because he could not board his flight on Friday morning. He said he expects that hundreds more could be facing the same issues, with estimates that around 70 fans have been affected already.
Hywel Price, from Cardiff, told BBC Wales: "We got up at 2.30am this morning to travel in a taxi to the airport for a 6:30am flight, but when we got there we were told by officials that our Hayya cards had been rejected.
"It's hellish - there were 13 of us from Wales on that flight having the same issue, and trying to prove that we had been approved to travel, even though the app still said the permit was pending. People have had emails saying that their cards were valid, only to find when they get to the airport that they have been refused entry".
Mr Price said many people were unhappy, especially due to the financial losses.
"I think this must be happening on a much wider scale than what happened to us this morning, and I expect this might continue all morning as more fans attempt to travel over to Doha for the game," he added. "The Red Wall will be smaller, I'm sure hundreds of fans might be faced with missing the game."
The Wales Football Supporters' Association said on Twitter: "Loads (of visas) finally got approved late but this whole process with day permit for Iran game has been difficult for our fans. We have informed Fifa and FAW."
Dozens of fans replied to the post saying they or other supporters had been affected. Fans who have made it to Doha have been making their way to the stadium early after long delays getting into the game against USA earlier this week.
There are also hopes that ticketing issues which flared during England's first game against Iran will have been resolved, while Fifa sought to reassure supporters on Thursday that those wearing rainbow-coloured hats and clothing would be allowed into the stadiums.
