Downing Street won't rule out Covid having started in a Wuhan lab leak

The Prime Minister has not ruled out the theory that the Covid-19 pandemic was started when the virus leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China. A spokesman for Rishi Sunak said: "The UK wants to see a robust, transparent and science-led review and believes all possibilities remain on the table until that is concluded."

Whitehall sources told The Telegraph ministers would support the theory if evidence is presented by the World Health Organisation.

It comes after former Health Secretary Matt Hancock was forced to censor his book The Pandemic Diaries to remove anything suggesting the virus could have come from a Wuhan lab, reports the Telegraph.
