Down and Laois have had to do things the hard way, but they are both just one win away from a place in the 2023 Tailteann Cup final.
The Mournemen were edged out by Meath in their final Group Two game and had to go through the preliminary quarter-finals.
After coming from behind to defeat Longford, Conor Laverty’s men took the scalp of last year’s beaten finalists Cavan in Kingspan Breffni Park in the quarter-finals.
Laois also recovered from their draw against London in their final group game to record impressive wins over Fermanagh and Limerick and they’ll relish the opportunity to upset the odds once more.
