Douglas Park Rangers AGM votes in full as chairman smashes Dave King's bid to oust him from Ibrox

Douglas Park eased to victory in Rangers' AGM despite Dave King's efforts to oust him.

Leading fan Group Club 1872 confirmed in the days building up to the meeting that they planned to back former chairman but the current chief sailed through the vote with a whopping 73 per cent to stay on as chairman, 283,968,271 (73.4%) voted in favour while 103,128,276 (26.6%) voted against.

All eight resolutions - seven ordinary and one special one all gathered the required numbers to pass the vote - with the final one requiring a 75 per cent majority. It just made the cut with 75.5 per cent (292,160,140) voting in favour with 24.5 per cent against (94,759,616).

A club statement following the AGM read: "The Board of Rangers International Football Club PLC is pleased to confirm that all resolutions presented at today’s Annual General Meeting were approved by shareholder vote.

"This successful outcome will assist the club with its ambitious investment plans, on and off the field of play."

New boss Michael Beale will now continue preparations on the training ground as Rangers get set to kick off the new era with a clash against Bayer Leverkusen this weekend.

The Bundesliga side make the trip to Ibrox to give the players some much-needed match minutes ahead of the big Premiership return next midweek under the lights. Hibs are the visitors as domestic matters return following the shutdown for the World Cup.
