Award-winning Dot to Dot Festival has announced its first wave of artists for its May bank holiday event in Bristol. The one-day festival is known in Bristol for bringing some of the best rising stars of the music world onto the stage since it first started in 2005.
Organisers had a successful 2022 summer comeback after 2021's event was postponed until September and is now fresh from being shortlisted in the Best Metropolitan Festival category at the UK Festival Awards. The festival is hosted at several indoor music venues across the city, which are yet to be announced, coming to Bristol on May 27 and then heading to Newcastle the day after.
In 2023 the festival will continue its tradition of spotlighting the very best emerging talent in the UK. Leeds post-punk band Yard Act has been selected as next year's headliners on Saturday, May 27, who have met success this year with their Mercury Award-nominated debut record The Overload.

Dot To Dot Festival booker Joshua Ward said: “We’re extremely pleased to be announcing the very first names on the bill for Dot To Dot Festival, again with an incredibly innovative and diverse line up of emerging artists. We have carefully selected these acts who begin to make up what is set to be an exciting 2023.
"With Dot To Dot Festival, we want you to find your new favourite artists, and watch intimate live performances you won’t forget. I am looking forward to catching earlier slots from upcoming bands, that we may eventually see headline in the future, just like Yard Act.”
Yard Act will be joined by Toronto-based indie outfit, Alvvays, who have recently released a highly praised album this year called Blue Rev. Finn Foxell and Kofi Stone also feature on the billing after a successful couple of years for both.
Other bands include Beka, Cathy Jain, Cryalot, Divorce, Heartworms, High Vis, Mickey Callisto, Nell Mescal, Nix Northwest, Opus Kink, Personal Trainer, Yot Club and yunè pinku.
Early bird tickets have already sold out and second-tier tickets for Dot To Dot are priced from £25 and available now through alt. tickets. Organisers say the event is suitable for those aged 14 and above but some venues may be restricted to those 18 and over.
