Dortmund look to Chelsea for Erling Haaland replacement amid Karim Adeyemi transfer news

Erling Haaland will be leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer. He will be joining Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City team on their quest to Champions League glory. As scary as this sounds for Premier League rivals, it's even more frightening for Chelsea as they look set to lose one of their forwards as a result.

Borussia Dortmund have been eyeing up the possibility of bringing Timo Werner back to the Bundesliga. The 26-year-old excelled during his time at RB Leipzig scoring 34 goals and 13 assists in his last season in Germany. Despite his recent record with Chelsea which has been far from impressive, the Germany international has caught the eyes of the BVB as their replacement for Haaland.

It'll be some big shoes for Werner to fill but Dortmund might just get the better end of this deal if they are able to get it across the line. He is made for the Bundesliga and more importantly, he will have the perfect partner to help him in attack.

According to 90min, Timo Werner is one of Dortmund's 'main targets' for the upcoming summer transfer window. I cannot say that I am surprised by this. Marco Rose could be the man to unlock Werner's full potential. His goal-scoring prowess is somewhere in there, it just doesn't like English football too much. The 26-year-old has scored a total of 23 goals in two seasons. This is not the expectation that Chelsea had at the beginning of their relationship.

As much as I adore Werner, it'll be in everyone's best interest if he does make the move back over to Germany. The high lines that come with the reputation of Bundesliga defences suit him vastly and he can take advantage of being the main man up top for Dortmund.

Dortmund have just announced the signing of wondered, Karim Adeyemi. The German international currently plays in a centre-forward partnership with Noah Okafor at RB Salzburg. Timo Werner's main strength lies with him playing off another striker upfront. He did it well with his former partner Yusuuf Paulsen.

This could prompt a formation change for Rose to consider with the introduction of both forwards. In fact, the signing of Karim Adeyemi signifies forward planning for the move on Werner if you ask me.

Thomas Tuchel will be looking for a summer overhaul once Chelsea's new owners are announced. The Blues are in need of defensive reinforcements as well as in attack. If they are to fulfil Tuchel's wishlist, players will need to be sold and Timo Werner might be one of them seeing as a club is already showing interest.
