Conservationists are celebrating a rare and hopeful discovery in Dorset, where a young puffin has been sighted emerging from its nest for the first time in 30 years, offering a boost to the region's dwindling population.
Volunteers monitoring the Purbeck puffin colony confirmed the sighting of the fledgling, known as a "puffling," on cliffs near the National Trust’s Dancing Ledge.
