Dorian Thompson-Robinson feeling more comfortable in year two with the Browns

There were not many highlights to share from the preseason opener between the Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers, but the play of quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson is noteworthy.

Sure, he was playing against third and fourth-stringers, but he played the same way he did a summer ago which won him the backup quarterback job over Joshua Dobbs. Entering his second season in the NFL now, Thompson-Robinson had this to say about returning from a hip injury, overcoming a rough rookie season, and more:

“I’m getting more comfortable as the days go on, as the practices go on with training camp here… just getting to know the guys, the new rookies, and just having a process now helps me for sure.”

An offer for Browns fans

It is important that Thompson-Robinson hit on having a process. Rookies coming into the NFL do not have an offseason routine. They do not have an offseason. They jump right into media availabilities, rookie minicamp, mandatory minicamp, and then training camp arrives in a hurry.

Having an offseason as a second-year player, hopefully, a veteran who can help sculpt an offseason plan, and a full year in the building as a professional can do wonders for a player.

Thompson-Robinson looked healthy and sharp against the Packers, and it will be exciting to see how he continues to grow this summer as he looks to prove to the Browns that he can still be that backup quarterback of the future they envisioned when they drafted him a year ago.
