DoorDash’s New Reservations Feature Will Help You Book That Impossible-To-Get Table

DoorDash’s New Reservations Feature Will Help You Book That Impossible-To-Get Table

Perhaps some of you have your diary sorted until 2027, but for the rest of us, making dinner plans is like Andy Sachs trying to survive at the Vogue office in her blue jumper, A.K.A a disaster.

Well, in the most welcome twist of 2025, you can now use DoorDash Reservations to book the most exclusive restaurants in town.

That’s right. An app most commonly known for last-minute takeaways and grocery hauls, DoorDash has now opened the doors to a wave of new offerings, launching in-app restaurant reservations across Sydney and Melbourne.

If you’re the type A friend who loves to plan ahead or the type B friend constantly playing catch up, keep on reading, ‘cos this is the best news you’ll hear all day.

Where can I book?

DoorDash is dropping some seriously luxe spots.

After a cocktail in Sydney? Head to Bar Julius. Craving a gourmet moment in Melbourne? Book your next Mediterranean feast at Orlo, or renowned wine bar Embla, with just the tap of a button.

It seems venues are equally excited. James Bradey, founder of Liquid & Larder group and part of the team behind Lottie and Bar Julius in Sydney, said they’re “proud to be part of DoorDash’s Reservations debut” and are “excited to welcome more guests from the greater network into our little corner of Redfern”.

More local treasures like Di Stassio Carlton and hatted restaurant Attenzione Food and Wine have also jumped on board.

But that’s not even the best part. If you book via DoorDash, you’ll get exclusive access to several of these venues. Yep — you’ll get a table, even if they’re booked out. How is that possible? I don’t know, and I don’t really care. I’m just taking the win.

But how does this work?

Oh, it’s as easy as can be.

Jump on to the DoorDash app, hit ‘Reservations’, browse through the restaurant options as you usually would, and snag the perfect spot for you and your party, available exactly when you need it.

What’s more: for a limited time only, you can get $10 back in credits for every reservation you book and attend (make that a cheeky $12 back if you’re a DashPass member).

These are credits you can use on future DoorDash orders, so not only is your night out sorted, but your cheeky takeaway is too.

As a society, I think we’ve been ready for the next step in our restaurant culture, and now those prayers have finally been answered.

If you don’t already have it, download the app now to line up your next night out. Happy munching!
