- DoorDash is moving further into clothing delivery while expanding its item return service. The San Francisco company announced Wednesday that it is partnering with Macy’s, Anthropologie , The North Face, Vans, and Timberland. These brands will offer products on DoorDash’s U.S. website, with drivers delivering them in as little as an hour.
- Macy's has relied on DoorDash for same-day delivery orders for several years, but this official step formalizes the partnership and allows Macy's to add its goods directly to DoorDash's website.
- DoorDash drivers will also collect and return items bought through the app for a flat fee of $7.99. Having tested the return service in a handful of U.S. markets, the firm plans a nationwide rollout in November.
- Launched as a restaurant delivery service in 2013, DoorDash added grocery delivery in 2020 and has expanded into new sectors to draw more customers to its platform. It recently announced partnerships with Gap, Costco, Barnes & Noble, and Kohl’s.
- Rival platform Uber Eats has also been adding retail deliveries, announcing a partnership with Foot Locker in July and expanding nationwide deliveries from Costco in September.
