If you’ve ever wondered what a total aviation meltdown looks like from the inside, look no further than the recent experience of Los Angeles-based actress Jo Osmond. She was trying to head home on a Virgin Atlantic flight out of London Heathrow when she got caught in the middle of a massive air traffic control failure. It turns out that her travel nightmare was just a small piece of a much bigger puzzle that ended up canceling over 2,000 flights.
Osmond documented the whole ordeal on Instagram and TikTok, where her video quickly racked up over 2.8 million views. In the footage, she captures the captain of her flight making a pretty candid admission to the passengers: “Everybody, this is your captain speaking. I have to say, in my 20 years of flying, I don’t actually recall anything quite, uh, quite as bizarre as this.”
