The signing of Donny van de Beek has been a massive disappointment for Manchester United fans.
Supporters have been desperate for the Dutchman to be given a chance to prove his worth, but cameo roles from the bench and the occasional outing in cup competitions are about as good as it's got.
Van de Beek arrived at Old Trafford with a glowing reputation following his time with Ajax and it looked like United had genuinely secured the signing of one of the most promising midfielders in Europe.
The Netherlands international now looks set to secure a loan move away from the club with both Crystal Palace and Valencia touted as potential suitors.
A lot of supporters aren't happy with how things have turned out for Van de Beek and they're not the only ones. The Dutchman is said to be 'upset' at how his United career has panned out so far and we've got some questions we'd like to ask the club...
Why pay so much for Van de Beek if he's only going to be a sub?
This is comfortably the question that's been asked the most since the Dutchman's arrival.
Manchester City have been criticised by some for their treatment of £100m man Jack Grealish since he signed in the summer, yet Grealish's occasional spell on the bench has nothing on Van de Beek's United stint.
United's scouts clearly saw something in Van de Beek to warrant spending £40m on him but no club would be mad enough to spend that much money on a player who was going to spend the next few seasons kicking their heels on the bench.
He hasn't been given a fair chance in the side and the whole saga is just very bizarre.
Did you consider how he'd fit into the system?
Van de Beek proved during his time at Ajax that he's a quality player so there's got to be something else stopping United from giving him a chance.
The 24-year-old has cut a frustrated figure on the United bench at times this season and so he's clearly desperate to show the club, the fans and the manager what he can do.
You kind of get the feeling United have signed Van de Beek because he's looked a really special talent at Ajax yet they've now realised he doesn't really fit into the system they want to play.
Was Van de Beek ever wanted by United in the first place?
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was understood to be a huge admirer of former Aston Villa man Grealish, but once it became clear Grealish wouldn't be moving to Old Trafford, Solskjaer turned his attention to Van de Beek.
Given the lack of game time Van de Beek has seen under both Solskjaer and Rangnick, you have to wonder whether the club ever considered him to be good enough for United or whether they just needed to sign a progressive midfielder and so signed whoever they could get their hands on.
Do you think Van de Beek deserves an apology?
Is it really out of the question to suggest that Van de Beek deserves an apology?
You'd be right to say that the club have been paying his wages and have given him the chance to play for one of the best clubs in the world, but we've possibly stunted his development and that could have a huge impact on the rest of his career.
I refuse to believe he signed for United knowing he was going to spend 90% of his time on the bench and so I genuinely don't think it's irrational to suggest he's owed an apology.
What's next for Van de Beek?
This is the one we really all want to know the answer to.
Does he have a future at United? Are we preparing to cut our losses and let him go? Will he ever get a chance?
It's quite possible to suggest that no one at the club knows the answer to all three of those questions and only time will tell whether Van de Beek will ever be given the chance to be a success at United.
