Donny Osmond hugs brother Merrill on stage for emotional final performance

Donny Osmond was pictured emotionally embracing his brother Merrill Osmond after the latter performed his final show.

Merrill, 68, performed his final concert earlier this week and his brother Donny, 64, said it was a 'night he'll never forget'.

The younger Osmond took to Twitter to share the snap of him embracing his brother from behind as Merrill performed for the crowd.

"It was a night I'll never forget. I went to my brother, Merrill's final performance here in the US," Donny wrote.

"As I watched him, I turned into a fan myself as I sang along with all of the other fans packing the Westgate theater, where we performed together in the 70's."

He added that Merrill asked him to join him on stage at the end of the show.

"As he sang his closing song, I couldn't help but give my brother a farewell hug," he continued.

"Yes, it took all of us to create The Osmonds, but it was Merrill's voice that created the sound. It was an amazing moment. Thank you, my brother."

Fans were equally as emotional and took to the comment section to shed a few tears over the final performance.

"Oh it was SO amazing to see you both ! Such s beautiful tender moment..Total #brotherlylove," one fan account wrote.

Another posted: "The hug that will forever be in my heart and mind! true testimony of “he ain’t heavy, he’s my brother”!!!

"I will miss merrill’s voice in person but his music with and without the family will live on!! brotherly love at its finest!! i love merrill and you!!"
