A donkey owner has been prohibited from keeping equines after her animals were found to be significantly underweight and living in horrifying conditions.
Margarite Geraldine Gibson, aged 76, who ran the donkey firm on the local beach, pleaded guilty to four animal welfare offences when she appeared in court last week.
Scarborough Magistrates’ Court heard how the RSPCA were set to the Whitby address alongside staff from Donkey Sanctuary on February 24, 2021, following concerns about the welfare of a number of donkeys in her care, as reported by Teesside Live.
