Donald Trump is to pay a surprise visit to Ireland next month, the Irish Mirror can reveal.
The former US President will stay at his five-star golf resort, Doonbeg, in Co Clare for a two to three day visit to play golf. He is expected to touch down in a private jet sometime from August 25th and will leave the country again before August 30th.
The Irish Mirror has learned a major security operation is already underway ahead of his visit in late August. And Trump, 76, also plans to bring a massive entourage with him to Ireland.

Before he flies here, the former US President will also pay a visit and play golf at his Scottish resort, Trump Turnberry. A senior source said: “He’s expected to fly into Shannon Airport and he will be staying at Doonbeg for two or three days to play golf.
“Even though he is a former US President, there will be a major policing operation because of who he is. There are significant threats to his life as a former US President.
“As such, he will have close protection and a visible security detail with him who will work in conjunction with a number of units from An Garda Síochána.”
It’s also understood members of Trump’s family are expected to travel to Co Clare.
A second source told the Irish Mirror: “He’s bringing a massive entourage with him and some of the family members are expected to travel too.
“He’s not on an official visit but because he’s a past President, it’s being treated with the utmost priority. Doonbeg and roads leading into the area will be scoped out in advance. Major Garda checkpoints will be in force in the lead up to and throughout the short visit.
“Former US Presidents receive Secret Service protection for the rest of their lives so they will be communicating with high-level officials in Ireland and Gardaí.”
It’s understood the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and the Special Detective Unit (SDU) will be tasked with liaising with US officials ahead and during the visit.
It’s Trump’s first visit to Ireland since President Joe Biden beat him in the elections in 2020.
His last visit to Co Clare was in 2019 when his two sons, Eric Trump and Donald Jnr, went on a walkabout in Doonbeg village and bought pints for locals in four different pubs.
Trump also posed for pictures with local school children who waved American flags at him while on the golf course.
Trump is currently making headlines in the States as hearings continue into the attack on Capitol Hill on January 6 last year.
It emerged that Trump sat in his private dining room watching the rebellion unfold on live TV for three hours and did nothing despite the major security breach.
Trump’s hardline supporters are hoping he will run for Presidency again in 2024 with Trump himself falsely claiming that the last election was stolen from him.
