In a recent development, it has been disclosed by a former Australian Prime Minister that Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, is in favor of the AUKUS defense pact between Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

The AUKUS pact, announced in September 2021, aims to enhance security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, particularly focusing on defense and technology sharing. The agreement involves Australia acquiring nuclear-powered submarines with the assistance of the US and UK.
