President-elect Donald Trump made a significant announcement during a gala at Mar-a-Lago, officially naming North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum as his choice to lead the Department of the Interior. In addition to this appointment, Trump has also designated Burgum as the chair of a newly established 'National Energy Council.'

National Energy Council aims to streamline energy processes and encourage private sector investments.
