Donald Trump Jr's emails revealed as ex-president's son is accused of racism

Donald Trump Jr has been accused of racism after 'highly inappropriate' emails sent several years ago were revealed as part of a court case.

In the private messages brought to light in the legal battle, the former-President's son wrote that Manhattan was starting to look like Harlem because so many Black families had moved in.

He wrote: "I hear the theme song of the Jeffersons playing in the background,"

In another exchange he wrote: "Encourage the Mexicans to come to the US and give them another excuse to not learn English.

"When I have to speak to my grandchildren in Spanish, at least I know I will have you to thank."

The emails came to light as part of a lawsuit involving a friend of Trump Jr's.

Gentry Beach, who was a groomsman at Trump Jr's wedding, is currently engaged in a lengthy legal battle with his former hedge-fund employer, Touradji Capital Management.

Mr Beach accuses the company of withholding tens of millions of dollars.

He also accuses the fund's founder Paul Touradji of threatening to kill him and planning to harm his career.

The emails, which were exchanged between Mr Beach and Trump Jr between 2005 and 2008, are being used as part of the hedge fund's legal defence.

Attornies claim they show Mr Beach was being disloyal and exposed the company to reputational damage.

Mr Beach tried to prevent the emails from becoming public.

This isn't the first time the lawsuit has gone to trial, with a jury previously unable to reach a verdict.

A lawyer for Mr Beach said that although the emails were "highly inappropriate, shameful, inexcusable," they should not be taken into consideration.

The lawyer said: "You don't have to like him to make a decision that he's owed money.

"Don't be manipulated."

Mr Beach's emails were sent into a number of old university mates, including Trump Jr.

On Thursday, State Supreme Court Justice Andrea Masley rejected Mr Beach's claims the name of Trump's oldest son should be redacted.

Responding to Trump Jr's 'concerns' about Mexicans in the US, Mr Beach responded he would go down to the border with ammo, writing: "We're going to stop this w****** issue dead in its tracks.".
