Donald Trump is throwing a tantrum again! This time, it’s about an arbitrary ranking of United States Presidents by an individual.
Addressing the congregated Senate Republicans during an event at the White House Rose Garden on Tuesday, October 21, Trump expressed displeasure over being ranked third after George Washington (1st U.S. President) and Abraham Lincoln (16th U.S. President) in the list of best United States presidents. While he did not mention who did the ranking, he mentioned that he got “extremely angry” at this “man” for it. After making this remark, Trump turned to the audience, seeking their approval, and pointed out that it would be challenging for him to “beat” Washington and Lincoln, but he was ready to give it a shot.
To justify why he believes he should be ranked number one, Donald Trump emphasised that he and his administration had successfully ended eight wars, with a ninth one “coming.” He said:
“Hey, they didn’t put out eight wars, nine coming. All right. We put out eight wars, and the ninth is coming, believe it or not.”
Trump’s boastful comments that fail to reflect his true nature did not go unnoticed by the people. As videos from the event made their way to social media, people identified Trump’s lies and made fun of him. Many recognised the malice in his words, which is always apparent in everything he says; others commented on how far removed he was from reality. One person wrote:
“The self-ranking is almost endearing. Comparing wartime legacies while the real metrics, like crumbling infrastructure and wealth inequality, tell a different story.”
Another person also had strong opinions about Trump and said:
“Trump is completely delusional. His first failure of an administration is ranked dead-last, and this second authoritarian disaster of his is even worse. Trump is, unequivocally, the worst, most irresponsible, corrupt, and criminal POTUS in American history, period.”
Several others also shared similar opinions about the orange dictator in chief. With the ongoing government shutdown, the soybean farmer crisis, and Israel’s failure to honour the ceasefire deal, these are the issues that occupy the President of the United States. Rankings! Am I surprised? No! Am I disgusted? Yes!
