Donald Trump was seen comforting his daughter Ivanka and his other children as they mourned the death of Ivana Trump at her funeral.
The final send off for Ivana took place at St Vincent Ferrer Church in New York on Wednesday with the Trump family bidding farewell to the businesswoman and television personality.
The former US president looked sombre as he along with his three children paid their respects at the church on Lexington Avenue.
They watched the gold casket being carried inside for the start of Ivana’s “Celebration of Life” service.
He was seen holding Ivanka’s arm and supporting her as the mourners later left the church.
Trump has limited his public appearances since he was beaten in the US presidential elections in 2020 and refused to accept the result.
He has mainly been seen in public at rallies with his loyal supporters and has not yet stated whether he will stand at the next elections.
Trump and his daughter are known to have had a falling out over their views of the election with Ivanka telling a congressional panel investigating the US Capital insurrection on January 6, last year, that she did not believe her dad’s view there was voter fraud.
The two were last seen pictured together having a Christmas Eve dinner at Trump’s private Mar-a-Lago Florida club.
Giving a eulogy during the funeral, Ivanka paid tribute to her mum’s business skills.
“Growing up, my mother didn’t tell me a woman could do anything she wanted to, she showed me. She was a trail blazer by men and women alike,” she said.
“My mother once told me there was nothing she couldn’t do in heels. She taught us how to spear fish and then cook what we caught.”
She added: “My mum expanded our minds.”
Ivana died aged 73 in her New York City apartment on July 14 as a result of an accident after suffering blunt force trauma injuries to her torso, according to the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
A police spokesperson said that Ms Trump had been found dead on the stairs inside her apartment and that foul play was not suspected.
Ivana was married to Donald Trump from 1977 to 1992. Their marriage was shaken by his high-profile affair with Marla Maples, which became tabloid fodder in the late 1980s.
