Donald Trump can’t come back from his grotesque praise for ‘genius’ tyrant Vladimir Putin

The White House refuted the claim that Donald Trump is susceptible to being 'played'.

Come on, Republicans, it is time to dump Trump. You know it. Even members of his Make America Great Again fan club know it. Somebody has to summon up the courage to tell the former US president that he is no longer the man of the hour — and that he must give up his vengeful drive to regain power.

Vladimir Putin has revealed the ugly side of the cult of the “strongman”. The game isn’t about “owning the libs” any more. Only recently Trump fawned over the Russian president as “savvy” and a “genius”. He has been backpedalling fast, telling the Washington Examiner in an interview today, “I’ve been very, very tough on Putin. I got a bad rap on that,” and saying he mistook Putin’s threats of invasion as a “negotiating” tactic. He is obviously embarrassed to have been so out of step with the US public and his party.
