Donald Trump has been accused of betraying Ukraine after announcing a deal for Russia to supply hundreds of thousands of tonnes of diesel to American and global markets.

The US president made the announcement on social media on Friday, following what he described as a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Critics immediately branded him a 'full on traitor' and 'Putin's lapdog'.
