President-elect Donald Trump made an announcement during a Friday night event at Mar-a-Lago, where he called North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Michael Whatley up on stage. Trump asked Whatley to continue serving as the chair of the committee for another cycle, a source familiar with the situation revealed.

Whatley accepted offer to continue as chair.
