Donal Og Cusack asked RTE presenter Joanne Cantwell to make sure she quotes him correctly next time in an intense exchange on RTE television this afternoon.
Ahead of the broadcast of Clare v Cork in the Munster championship, Cantwell asked Donal Og about the comments he made on Morning Ireland last week in relation to the Tailteann Cup.
The hurling legend referred to the Tailteann Cup as a 'Gaelic football Grand National for disappointed also rans,' a comment which upset many supporters.

When taken to task over these comments by Cantwell, Cusack didn't shy away from the remarks, but bizarrely demanded that Cantwell not misquote him as he claimed she had done so.
"We're here to talk about hurling and now we're talking about Gaelic football," said Donal Og when asked about his disparaging remarks.
"Did you hear the program? Do you listen to it every week?" asked Cusack, to which Cantwell twice replied "Yes."
"Are they happy to be in the Tailteann Cup? You're asking what I said. First of all, we're here to talk about one of the best days we have in hurling.
"You're asking me a question about what I said. I'm explaining to you what I said."
When Cantwell asked why he called it a "Grand National for also rans," Cusack said "That's not exactly what I said. You tell me what I said.
"Joanne, we're here to talk about hurling, and the next time you come asking me the questions, make sure you quote me correctly."
An astonishing exchange and one you can watch in full right here.
