US President Donald Trump on Thursday brushed aside reports suggesting he may have been wearing a bulletproof vest following the attempted assassination at a White House Correspondents' Dinner event.

Speaking to reporters, Trump jokingly said that he doesn't want to look '20 pounds' heavier.
