Don’t Shop at Marshalls on This Day of the Week

You might think that any day at Marshalls will offer great deals and an amazing shopping experience. However, that’s not the case.

Consumer experts know that there are some days you simply just cannot go to Marshalls. Here’s what they said so you don’t make the mistake of going to Marshalls on the wrong day.

What Is One Thing All Experts Agreed on?

Though the specific day depended on the expert, there was one time where all experts said you shouldn’t attempt going to Marshalls: Weekends. If you can avoid going on Saturday or Sunday, you’d have a much better time. These two days are Marshalls’ busiest, and as a result can have less inventory.

Which Day Is Worse?

Between Saturday and Sunday, experts were torn. Mike Bowman is the technical product manager at Patio Productions and analyzes logistical supply chain issues. In his expert opinion, Saturday at Marshalls is a nightmare for shoppers.

“The worst product selection and longest lines to check out can be anticipated Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Retail stores like Marshalls experience extreme entropy on Saturdays due to the fact that the employees cannot replenish the stock quickly enough to meet the rapid buying pace of the crowd,” Bowman said.

Amy Kunst, principal interior designer and founder of Designed | Curated Interiors, said going on Saturday to look for something she wanted ended in disappointment.

“I think the only success I had was to get in the shop and then get out. Forget laying hands over the thing I wanted,” Kunst recounted. “And thank god, I didn’t because I am not even sure to this date if I would have got the right thing in that chaos.”

On the other hand, Sunday is no walk in the park. Jason Fiore is a SEO Strategist for Earth Ragz and focuses on consumer patterns. He said that to him, there’s no question: Sunday is the worst day for both the crowds and the ransacked selection.

“For me, the absolute worst time to go to Marshalls is on a Sunday, especially between 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Store data indicates that during this period, over 40% of your highest demand products are gone based on mid-week volume,” according to Fiore. “As a result of the large crowds, the sales team will be too busy trying to meet customer demands and the sales floors will be disorganized.”

Ali Hassan of Rabbit Roofing has observed that shopping at Marshalls on Sundays can cost you a lot of time.

“What is supposed to be a fast visit becomes a slow window shopping with reduced returns,” Hassan added.

It sounds like neither day is ideal to shop, so it’s best to avoid both of them for the best experience.
