NEW DELHI: The sudden death of 53-year-old singer KK, who suffered a heart attack during an event in Kolkata leading to cardiac arrest, has led doctors to underline the importance of timely cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
“Sudden cardiac arrest can occur after a heart attack. It can leave a person unconscious and without a pulse. If CPR or even chest compression is administered immediately or until medical assistance arrives, there is a good chance of recovery. I suspect that didn’t happen in this case,” Dr Ambuj Roy, professor of cardiology at AIIMS, said.
