In days gone by, Everton fans might have been mightily concerned to hear that their star striker had turned up in Milan over the summer but rather than being on the brink of a transfer to one of the Italian city’s two major clubs, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has instead been taking in its famous fashion shows. For the bulk of the second half of the 20th century, Italian clubs were the biggest payers in world football and attracted the cream of talent from across the globe but since the rise of Premier League, the financial power shift in football has moved firmly to England.
Milan remains a style capital though and Blues ace Calvert-Lewin, who spoke on his passion for fashion in an interview published last week for Notion magazine when embarking on a Father’s Day photo shoot with his dad, has been spending time there in recent days to take in the latest collections. The 25-year-old, who has been making waves through some bold modelling over the past season, looked relaxed as he took in some of the major houses’ creations during Milan Fashion Week.
Calvert-Lewin wore oversized pink-tinted sunglasses, a silk scarf and lime jumper to pose with Donatella Versace and Italian rapper Marracash at the Versace show, while changing to a sky blue suit with double breasted jacket but no shirt to be pictured next to Liverpool-born footballer Josef Yarney, a former Everton junior player who now turns out for Indian side RoundGlass Punjab at the Emporio Armani show.

He also took in the JW Anderson show, sporting one of their shirts, which was half green/half blue with grey and cream-coloured sleeves. The question on Evertonians’ lips though concerns whether the former Sheffield United man will still be sporting a royal blue jersey come next season with an article in GQ back in April claiming he was on the “brink” of a summer move to Arsenal, on the eve of Everton’s crucial Premier League fixture at Burnley left Goodison Park chiefs furious.
