A 45-year-old woman has been charged with domestic violence murder after her partner was fatally struck by a car.
Emergency services were called to Stoneywood Street in the rural town of Fernvale, about 60km east of Brisbane, on Sunday afternoon after reports of a disturbance, police said.
Neighbours were performing CPR on the 50-year-old man, who had suffered significant injuries, Ipswich District Detective Inspector Mick Manago said.
"Police arrived at the scene and continued with CPR and first aid efforts until paramedics arrived," Insp Manago said on Monday.
The man was unable to be revived, leaving many people traumatised, he said.
"So as you can quite rightly imagine, the public are quite distressed by what's occurred," Insp Manago said.
An adult child of the couple was at the home at the time of the incident.
The couple was known to police and officers had previously been to the home for domestic and family violence-related matters, Insp Manago said.
Police seized a Commodore station wagon for examination.
The woman will appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
